TransformStream: writable property

Baseline Widely available

This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since ⁨June 2022⁩.

Note: This feature is available in Web Workers.

The writable read-only property of the TransformStream interface returns the WritableStream instance controlled by this TransformStream.

Value

A WritableStream.

Examples

The following example creates a new TransformStream as a textEncoderStream, and prints the value of writable to the console.

const textEncoderStream = new TransformStream();
console.log(textEncoderStream.writable); // a WritableStream
