Uses

Encode a variable into JSON, with some sanity checks.
wp-admin/includes/nav-menu.php: nav_menu_meta_box_object

Filters whether a menu items meta box will be added for the current object type.
wp-includes/capabilities.php: current_user_can()

Returns whether the current user has the specified capability.
