IntlChar::isWhitespace — Check if code point is a whitespace character according to ICU
public static IntlChar::isWhitespace ( mixed $codepoint ) : bool
Determines if the specified code point is a whitespace character according to ICU.
A character is considered to be a ICU whitespace character if and only if it satisfies one of the following criteria:
codepoint
The int codepoint value (e.g. 0x2603
for U+2603 SNOWMAN), or the character encoded as a UTF-8 string (e.g. "\u{2603}"
)
Returns true
if codepoint
is a whitespace character according to ICU, false
if not.
Example #1 Testing different code points
<?php var_dump(IntlChar::iswhitespace("A")); var_dump(IntlChar::iswhitespace(" ")); var_dump(IntlChar::iswhitespace("\n")); var_dump(IntlChar::iswhitespace("\t")); var_dump(IntlChar::iswhitespace("\u{00A0}")); ?>
The above example will output:
bool(false) bool(true) bool(true) bool(true) bool(false)
